Camp Beauregard Historical Photos

  • Historical Date: November, 1940
  • Location:Camp Beauregard, Louisiana

Photo above: Here is Company F, 126th Infantry, from Grand Haven, marching back to its quarters from the training area at Camp Beauregard, La. It is in this kind of country that the Michigan troops are getting their basic training. The trees are yellow pine.1

Interesting that they chose to call out the species of pine trees!

Mopsy cartoon

Don’t cry dear, he’ll find another girl at camp!

While the men were off at training, there were many women left home waiting for letters. This “Mopsy” cartoon was something my grandmother cut out of the paper and put in her scrapbook with the news of the boys at Camp Beauregard.
