George Borgeson at Camp Beauregard, December 1940

George was born April 29, 1922 in Muskegon, MI and was a lifelong resident of the area. He joined the National Guard in Muskegon on mobilization day, October 15, 1940. Government archives list his civilian occupation as “Actors and actresses”.1

He married the former Ida Smith on April 5, 1941, and they had two children.

After the war, he spent 39 years working for Dresser Industries, retiring in 1984. Post-retirement, he worked for the Muskegon Country Club for 13 years. He is buried at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Muskegon.2

George’s brother, Roy Borgeson, was in Company G, also.
