George was born April 29, 1922 in Muskegon, MI and was a lifelong resident of the area. He joined the National Guard in Muskegon on mobilization day, October 15, 1940. Government archives list his civilian occupation as “Actors and actresses”.¹

He married the former Ida Smith on April 5, 1941, and they had two children.

After the war, he spent 39 years working for Dresser Industries, retiring in 1984. Post-retirement, he worked for the Muskegon Country Club for 13 years. He is buried at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Muskegon.²

George’s brother, Roy Borgeson, was in Company G, also.
